The morning of the race I had driven towards the YMCA in Bay Shore to start setting up and wow, was there a lot of pink. The overwhelming support and love from the large group of people that attended the YMCA 5K Run in Memory of Judi was truly amazing. When the race had started and the sea of pink came running towards me, I knew it was going to be a good day for photo ops. Here are 3 reasons why you should run for the photo op.
1. Raising Awareness and Support
By showing your support in more ways than one, you can share these photos to your friends and family. The use of the internet has never been more important. Not only can you now officially prove to everyone that you ran a 5k, but you can share what a great event it was. The cause you ran for is so important. Share with a friend or two and maybe they'll accompany you on the next one!
2. You Now Have (FREE) Professional Photographs of Yourself
Free? Yes- free. All photos taken from the YMCA 5K Run in Memory of Judi can be found in the gallery I just posted. You may view your photos here and download/share them as you please. If you just ran a 5K, you deserve some free photos!
3. Being in Front of the Camera Gave You That Extra Push You Needed to Finish Strong
This probably sounds cheesy, I know. But after seeing me in the middle of all of the pink, everyone started to run again and most didn't stop. Running for the photo also gave that little push that kept the energy flowing. From the start line to the finish line, I've captured the memories and you can view them here.
