The Kids Run Long Island took place in Sayville the other day and I had so much fun photographing each and every child from the start line to the finish line. Each child full of energy and ready to run!
Toes on the starting line.
Adrenaline pumping.
Parents cheering, phones in hand.
Focus. Shoot. Focus. Shoot.
From Start to Finish
Filling up my view finder with children running towards me, I'm surprised I survived without being trampled! These kids were ready before the gun shot went off to let them advance forward. They FLEW by me as I was snapping photos of them, like I said- very lucky that they ran past me and not through me. Ha! Even with the chilly weather, the kids made it seem like a breeze as they ran up and down and around the field before reaching the finish line.
Photographing Flying Spaghetti
You're probably wondering, "..but Jenn! What does this have to do with flying spaghetti?!" Imagine this, there's hundreds of kids on one side of the field and you're waiting for them on the other side- camera in hand. Now picture all of them running at you at full speed, as you're crouched down waiting to get the perfect picture. All you're able to see is what your camera allows you to see, which in my case was my viewfinder. Capturing all movement, their arms and their legs flailing towards me. Does that not sound like flying spaghetti?
